The Fulda Regional District Board is asking members of the Fulda Regional Sewer District to use mindfulness and prudence when putting things in the sewer system. Users may receive additional charges if non-allowable items are disposed of in their septic tanks. Items that are not to be disposed of in septic tanks include: bleach, disinfectants, toxic chemicals, wipes, feminine hygiene products, tobacco products, latex paint, vegetable seeds, potato peels, gasoline, ashes, animal waste, unground garbage, paper or plastic dishes, and disposable masks. Over the course of 11 days, your parish family will provide readings to help you slowly and prayerfully begin processing suffering and its place in the Christian life. The first four meditations lay the basic groundwork for understanding suffering. Meditations five through ten deal with how we should respond to the suffering we experience. St. Michael Catholic Church, Washington Street in Cannelton, IN, will host fish dinners on the first six Fridays of Lent (no dinner on Good Friday). The dinner includes fried fish or cheese pizza, homemade cole slaw, baked beans or macaroni and cheese, hush puppies, dessert, and a drink. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children. Dinner is served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Carryout is available.
