Catholic Charities: A Review of 2024

Did you know that during 2024 Catholic Charities had more than 500 people come through our doors for assistance? During the past year, Catholic Charities served 296 adults and 211 children with emergency assistance. 

With our Salvation Army Fund, we served 305 adults and 199 children. With our Ohio Valley Gas Fund, we served 73 adults and 41 children. These results mean that we have allowed many of these folks to remain in their homes with operating utilities. This is all because of our many donors to this program! 

Table of Blessings served 3,093 people during 2024. This program only operates due to the generous donors who prepare, serve, clean up, and pay for the meal each week! Catholic Charities is proud to say this is a program we sponsor. It is very ecumenical in its service to all people. We are so fortunate to have many businesses and organizations in Tell City and the surrounding areas to support this meal. 

The Early Years Store had 112 shoppers last year. This includes all diapers, formula, clothing, and equipment given to our shoppers free of charge. We stay very busy when the seasons change for the clothing items. Again, this only happens due to the generous donations of our donors and our volunteers who help maintain this store by organizing clothing and items for giveaway. We are very grateful for all your assistance.

Martin’s Food Pantry served 558 families during 2024, which means 1,463 people received food from the pantry. These may be people who cannot get into town for whatever reason, so this is a much-needed service. We are grateful to Romana and her helpers for providing this service for our people. 

Catholic Charities Coat Giveaway provided 184 coats, 216 hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets for 2024. We have many more coats still available to those who need them. This is another program that is a success due to the generous donations we receive from you, our donors. We are still in the winter mode and will be giving away more coats as people are in need.
