Blessing for Students and Teachers
A minister who is a priest or deacon says the prayer of blessing with hands outstretched over the students and teachers; a lay minister says the prayer with hands joined.
Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.
In times long past you sent us your prophets to teach your laws and to bear witness to your undying love.
You sent us your Son to teach us by word and example that true wisdom comes from you alone.
Send your Spirit upon these students and their teachers and fill them with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that during this academic year they may devote themselves to their studies and share what they have learned from others.
Help them discern their unique vocation as they grow in knowledge and faith.
May they find strength in prayer and in the Eucharistic celebration, and may our parish family support them with love and encouragement in their educational journey.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Loving Father, we ask your protection over these students as they carry their books and belongings each day.
Bless their backpacks and all they contain - may these tools of learning serve them well in their pursuit of knowledge and their discernment of vocation.
Keep them safe from injury as they travel to and from school, and may their backpacks remind them daily of the precious gift of education.
Guide their steps, protect their bodies from strain or harm, and let their school supplies be instruments of growth in wisdom and understanding.
May they remember to turn to you in prayer throughout their school day, drawing strength from the Eucharistic Lord who accompanies them always.
Surround them with the care and prayers of our parish family wherever they go.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
