Ash Wednesday and Lenten services announced
St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County announce the Mass schedule for Ash Wednesday and Stations of the Cross during Lent. All times are Central Time.
On Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Mass with the blessing and distribution of ashes is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda, 4:15 p.m.at St. Meinrad Catholic Church, and 6:15 p.m. at St. Boniface. In addition, two morning prayer services with the distribution of ashes have been added: 6:30 a.m. at St. Boniface and 7:15 a.m. at St. Meinrad.Ash Wednesday is a universal day of fasting and abstinence in the Church and is not a holy day of obligation. Catholics are encouraged to attend a prayer service or Mass and receive the distribution of ashes.
On Wednesdays during Lent, students from select F3 (family faith formation) classes will gather in Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda at 6:30 p.m. to pray the Stations of the Cross. The public is welcome. Each Friday during Lent, stations are prayed at 3 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Parish churches are open daily from dawn to dusk.
Eucharistic Adoration is available each week: Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.
Confession is available at St. Meinrad Catholic Church on Wednesdays, 3:15 to 4 p.m., and Sundays, 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. before the 8:30 a.m. Mass. At Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church, confession is available Saturdays at 3:15 to 3:45 p.m.
Communal penance services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church and TBD at St. Paul Catholic Church, Tell City.
